Does anyone have any info on this whanau name?
Our great grandmother we were told lived at the back of Matahi- Tuhoe
in a four post tent and had 8 or 10 children and was heavily involved in the church and band that travelled around the area about 1920 - 1940 Since i have never met my Tuhoe side i would not know which marae we are affiliated to but would love to connect up with them and know this side as i am lost when it comes to my mothers fathers side.

I know of Tamati Cairns who is from Tuhoe /Waikaremoana area, and he live's in Wellington. I will get more information from my sister who lives in Wellington too. You also may find his name in the Wellington Directory. You will also find the Cairns name around Waikaremoana at a small place named 'TUAI'.

Good Luck.
