Where are the Heta whanau from ??? Whangarei, Te Awamutu, Huntly, Kawhia?? My mother was Mihi Heta, daughter of Donald Tani & Lillian Rachel Heta. I think there was 14 of them all up. Mum died at the young age of 33 in 1991. I now am 32 years old and trying to trace my whakapapa but am unsure if I will be connecting to the right whanau.
The names of her siblings which may not be in the exact age order are listed:-
Mahu= Whangarei Marina= Ozzie Sonia= Ozzie
Raewyn= Aux Dayna= Aux Mihi= (dec)
June= Aux Moira= Hastings Donald= Aux??
Willie= Rotorua Tina= Hamilton Tani= Aux
another deceased brother Charlie and whangai= Danny(Daniel)
Can you please help me. I was not brought up with my mum, but my dad's mother whom later legally adopted me and I have very little knowledge.

Kia Ora, So you would be my Nana Horace Whiunui's half sister I gather?

His dad was Don Tani Heta and his mum Rosie Kahuwhariki heta (born Moore)

Tena koe. I think your whanau are in the lower waikato region, Don married Hikihiki Ngakete of Kawhia/Taharoa probably 1930s and had a number of tamariki, 2 I know of were adopted out to other families.
