My Surname is Patarana and my Nan, my fathers mother was a Karauna. Im trying to get a whanau tree going for my 6mnth old son as i think its good for him to know where he came from. I would do it myself however my father went to aussie when i was 8 and im now 24 and havent seen him since so i never had the chance to meet my fathers whanau.
I quess all the info i can get would b awesome.

My fathers name is John Werohia Patarana, he was born and raised in Opotiki.

My nanny Karauna's first name was Barbara (Barb). Thats about all I know really. My Koro's name Boyd Patarana.

Kia ora I am a Karauna from those parts, I think we are 1st cousins, your mum would be a sister to my dad. And our uncle Gogie is staying in the homestead at Waiotahi, I have emailed ya and also decided to write here as well, fingers crossed eh!
