My father was adopted and on the birth certificate was Grace Olive Proctor. Dad's now in his late 50's and was adopted from Auckland Sisters of Mercy. It seems strange that he would have been adopted out, but maybe his mother was not in contact with the whanau.

He's managed to trace a Gracie Proctor who lives in the Waikato. Apparantly she is Ngati Porou but no family whakapapa can be verified.

Does any of the Proctor's from Ngati Porou know of Gracie, she apparantly had a bit of a checkered past and theres a few "skeletons in the closet" stopping dad from approaching her 🙁

Anyhow I'm the most passionate in the family to trace whakapapa, so any help from Ngati Porou Proctor's would be very appreciated.

We went to the far north chasing Proctor's at Whangapae only to find they were different Proctors!!
