Kia Ora Whānau. I’m a Harrison from Waipiro Bay. My maternal grandmother is matekino Paranihi riwai. Her mum was a toheriri from akuaku Waipiro and her dad was Hori Riwai of Te Whanau Apanui and ngati horowai. She was born in 1923 and before she passed she was unsure if she was born in te Horo or Te Kaha. Te Whanau Apanui. She was the eldest of 5 children. She was raised by her paternal grandparents in Te horo  maukuia tai (te Kaha )and hori te apinga riwai (te Kaha). i was brought up with the Haileys and the kururangis  which are siblings to my great great great grandfather. They were also maringaorangis. Can someone help. I’m not sure if I’m 100% correct. But my Aunty interviewed my nan and she spoke  of her upbringing.
