My Parents and I left NZ in 1986 with my 4 brothers- Robert, Joshua, Billy-Jess and Michael.
My dearly loved grandmother is Mere Ryder and my dearly loved grandfather (deceased) Jesse Ryder.
I was born in KawaKawa along with my brothers and my Whanu originates from around Karetu.
My loved and missed uncles are Charlie, George, Toot and Allan and my loved and missed aunties are Sana and Jane.
My interest for this is to recieve some knowledge on my Whanu and where my roots are, I know some things but there is never enough to know.

Kia ora Mac Ryder,

As far as I know if your tupuna (grandfather or grandmother) have land shares then usually they originated from that area, or at least one tupuna. Could be your great grandmother or greatgrandfather. Whoever your nan and papa received their land shares from!

As I could not find any unclaimed land monies for them, I am assuming that they are getting paid, so contact the maori land court, http://www.justice.govt.nz/maorilandcourt/contactus.htm or maori trust office, http://www.tpk.govt.nz/contact/default.asp and ask if they could give you a contact phone number or address for any of those listed below.

Found some land shares for some of your whanau (Think this could be your whanau?).

If this is your grandfather then there must be unclaimed land monies somewhere! You’ll need to contact http://www.tpk.govt.nz/contact/default.asp to find out and the same if that is your nan, Mere Ryder.

If any are deceased then succession to his/her land shares need to take place.

To find out what is succession click on the site below?: http://www.justice.govt.nz/maorilandcourt/succession.htm

Hope this helps you to find a whanau member.
