I have seen many searches for tupuna Te Tihi, and wonder exactly how he relates to Tupuna Nene.

It is known that Hongi Hika attacked his PA in the lower Waihou (Hokianga)
There are two stories ( one states he died there and had an eye removed by Hongi)
the other says he got away and fled to a neibouring whanau Pa.

I ask as this man is MY Tupuna, had two sons and both these lines continue today
I would love to find the decendants of Hone Matarauhi My Tupuna's tuakana brother

I have researched and have come up blank, I do not know his whakapapa link to Ngapuhi, have found two small whakapapa that show two different parents.

PLEASE WHANAU if you can assist me, or point me in the right direction? I have emailed marae in the area of Hokianga to Kaikohe to no avail ( no replies received) I appreciate any help you can offer.
