TIMU, Sarah & LEE, Jacka
I am a descendent of Sarah Timu and Jacka Lee through their daughter Elizabeth Lee who married William Aston/Ashton.
They had Maria Theresa Aston/Ashton who married Charles Williamson.
They had Albert Edward Williamson who married Mavis Murray.
They had Jean Williamson who married Ronald Hall.
They had Patrick Hall who is my father.
I am looking for any information on the Timu connection to establish whether Sarah was of Ngai Tahu descent or another iwi.
I hope someone may be able to help.
I am also looking for information about Sarah TIMU Lee (apprx 1806). My children are desperately trying to find where she was born, if she was Ngati Kahununu/Porou/ or other (where was her marae) before moving to Stewart island with her husband. I read her daughter Maraea Lee Baird and husband went to Wairoa for 15 years, so wondering if this was were her family lived (if so what tribe is she?) Can anyone confirm were she came from,(was it near Bethlehem?) if she had brothers or sisters and who were her parents?
Thankyou for any help
I am currently trying to find information about Jean Beryl Williamson/Ashwell. She is the daughter of Mary Theresa Williamson. Mary Theresa Williamson was the grand daughter of Elizabeth Lee who was the daugher of Sarah Timu/John Lee. I am trying to find out who the father was as it is not on her birth ceritficate. Any help would be amazing
