KENA Pita, Werangi Hau Moe
My great uncle, Malcolm Ross, took a photo (Turnbull Library ref. PA1-q-634-59) in March 1904 at Pouto of an unveiling. Named in the photo are Lord Ranfurly and James Carroll.
The information with the photograph says the memorial is to Hau Moe Werangi and Pita Kena who died 1903. So far I have not been able to discover anything further about these two people.
I would be grateful for an explanation of the significance of the memorial to Hau Moe Werangi and Pita Kena
