She is a long way from home I would love to know how a girl from the Bay Of Plenty ended up in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Her father was WA Butt her mother Raiha Rangikawhiti Eliza Rogers & she married Walter Mason.
Her tombstone says
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
RAMA MASON
BORN AT MAKETU N.Z. 2Oth Dec, 1882
DIED AT MONTEVIDEO 19th Oct. 1932
BELOVED WIFE AND MOTHER

Information from David Rennie secretary of The British Cemetery 1/10/13
Would love any info

I'm researching my husbands whanau (Rogers) and came across your enquiry.  I've done a bit of digging and have discovered that Walter Mason was an english farmer according to the Passenger lists.  They based themselves in Reading UK and travelled back and forth to Uruguay quite a bit often Rama travelled with the girls herself.   I've found five daughters born 1905-1917 : Veronica, Barbara, Heather, Rachel and Anita.
I did find a marriage record for Walter Mason in Uruguay in 1933 but haven't been able to find the name of his spouse.  Will keep looking.
