I'm researching my husbands whanau (Rogers) and came across your enquiry. I've done a bit of digging and have discovered that Walter Mason was an english farmer according to the Passenger lists. They based themselves in Reading UK and travelled back and forth to Uruguay quite a bit often Rama travelled with the girls herself. I've found five daughters born 1905-1917 : Veronica, Barbara, Heather, Rachel and Anita.
I did find a marriage record for Walter Mason in Uruguay in 1933 but haven't been able to find the name of his spouse. Will keep looking.
