I have, in my possession, a rather beautiful portrait, done in soft pastels, of an elderly Maori lady. She has white shoulder length hair and a moko on her chin, she also has a tattoo above her upper lip. This portrait was made in (I think) 1982 by an artist named H. J. Silcox, and the name of the subject is 'Mrs Hapimana'. I would like to return this portrait to the family of this lady, as I feel it will probably be of significance for them. My problem is that I can't find any info on the artist or the subject. I would be grateful for any suggestions.
