Hi I am a part maori kiwi currently searching for family related to my grandparents. My maori heritage is inherited from the Pearson family (originally Piahana). My recently deceased Grandfather's name in 2003 being Dean Wiremu Pearson of Thames. I'm not too sure but I think his iwi is Ngati Maru. His late wife's name was Moera Pearson (nee Anania), and is buried on Taupiri Hill near Ngaruawahia. I'm told her father was from Kaeo up North. My grandparents had 3 young children before my grandmother (Moera) passed away at an early age, the eldest being my father Dean, his younger brother Dave (nee Dana), and sister Drean. My grandfather later remarried to Ngaire and had two sons Aaron & Sheridan, whom I've known since childhood. I would like to know of anybody who has any info regarding any of these families so that I am able to at least find relatives on my fathers side.
