George WITANA passed away early hours of this morning after an ongoing illness in Kaitaia Hospital.
School Teacher and an orator, who assisted in many local Te Aupouri hui etc and a stalwart of Rugby in Te Kao.
George will be returning to Potahi Marae Te Kao soon.

Proud spokesperson for Te Aupouri and Te Kao, gifted orator, teacher, writer and comedian, our kaumatua George Witana passed away in Kaitaia Hospital this morning, Wednesday the 24th of October, aged 71 years. His body will be returned to Potahi Marae in Te Kao later today.
