I have a boat with the name Ngataki.
I am told it is a Maori word (and a place in New Zealand). Can anybody help me with what the name means.

Ngataki is located in the nothernmost part of New Zealand's North Island peninsula.
It's full name is Ngataki-a-Mokohorea. Taki means challenge and Mokohorea was a Maori warrior who issued challenges to prospective marauding parties to protect his 'patch' from attack.
Hope this helps.
