Looking For whakapapa details of Hoani Mahuika, Ngati Tumatakokiri and Ngati Apa of the Kawatiri.
He married Mata Nohinohi Tumatakokiri, Muaupoko... and had Henare and Hoani.

Mata was the Grandmother of "Kehu" - Honemokehakeha, guide to southwestern explorers.

Any information on Mata or Hoani would be greatly appreciated.

Tena koe maitahi_steve,

If you go to www.familysearch.org and put Mahuika in the surname box, setting the country to New Zealand, you will find quite a few for that surname - have a look around you may be able to find some relevant info. NOTE: not all information in that site is accurate, but it is a good place to start

Kia ora wyllie.

Not sure if he is.

All I know is that he was living in the Westport area. He came from the Taranaki rohe I think.
