I am trying to trace any family connections to my Koro, named above. I think that his father originated from the Ngapuhi area.
Koro lived in the Rotorua area, had many wives/relationships. I don't know much about my father's side of the family. I am seeking some connection to my father's family roots. I can't ask him as he died over 20 years ago. Koro was in his early 80's when he died in 1994.
Dad died in Rotorua I think in 1983/84. He was buried at Kearoa Marae, Horohoro.
I would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about these wonderful men.

Kia ora Tui-Anne

I have absolutely no information on you Koro but the surname/name Wipani is my mothers maiden name and is not a common name. Thought I'd make this connection.

Kiaora Tam, Gerald Matthews from Kearoa was the son of Oriwa Teimana & John Te Puhe Matthews (Te Puhi Matiu)He was one of 9 children.
I have a whakapapa that is in Microsoft Xcel format, but I can also send it in PDF Form if you want.
Do you know that Rose Matthews is still alive in Maketu?
She is the wife of your Koro's brother Phillip.
