Kia ora,

I am trying to find out about Hira Moewaka, she is my great, great, great grandmother. She married Samuel Stephenson, by Maori rite in 1844 and by english rite in 1852. Before she was married she had taken the european name of Ada Charlotte Macauliffe.
Samuel Stephenson was a merchant operating out of Kororakea.
I think Hira's father was called Rahiri, apparently he was a chief, but I cannot find any reference to the iwi.
any help would be much appreciated
Heloise Stephenson
