Tohirere was my grandfather, his other name was Te Ware, his father was Te Wana and mother Murihau Coromandel. I am looking for any info relating to my anscestors. Tohirere was Ngati Whanaunga, Mateawa is the hapu and Kaiuau the marae. Tohirere's great grandfather fought at gate pa and there is a monument at the site dedicated to Puherake Rawiri.
