Kia ora Anahera,
Might be barking up the wrong tree. My uncle is Sonny (the Hawk) Smith from the Hokianga.Seems a coincidence butso they might be related, his wifes name was Winnie? Lotta whanau between Hokianga and Coromandel.Go to Old Friends website look up Amelia Morgan and read profile, can't contact her though as think email no good. But if its Smiths u want to know about thats their turf.
My sister married George Taipari from Thames, you will also see a few of them on Old Friends site. My whanau will probably know the Mathews.
If u think there is something for you regarding my Sonny-The Hawk- I can put you on to someone who can help you. I am on the Gold Coast and Mike King is my name. Ka Kite
