kia ora Y2ranga ,i have a family tree with lots of names but being new to reseaching my maori family am having trouble, the tree i have says he was the chief who sold waitohi in 1850 but apparently there are 2 waitohi's so i am unsure of which it is.he died 12/5/1868 and was married to haneta toea ,if that helps thanks nell

Kia ora Nell,
He was the chief that sold Waitohi (Picton). Check out the book, As high as the hills as he is talked about a lot in that book. from memory there is also a memorial for him in Waikawa, Picton. If you need further information contact me, as i live in Waikawa and am more than willing to help.
