TE WHANARERE, Hohapeta Tumaaro
Does anyone know anything about my great great grandfather Tumaaro of Ngati Hinerangi. All I know he was in the Te Arawa Constabulary led by Gilbert Mair in the 1870's and was married to my great great grandmother Te Motoi of Ngati Makino and had a son, Te Morehu Te Kirikau, my great grand father. I was told he was a very humble man and was always kept in the background. I have no photos of him at all although a picture was taken of the Te Arawa Constabulary from the 1870's and somehow family members said a particular person who fits the description of my koroua is him. I have seen the picture but I wouldn't know if it's him or not. I would appreciate anything on my koroua. Kia Ora!
