Titipa and Eraihe (Ngaiterangi)
Titipa and Eraihe are mentioned in my GGrandmothers memoirs as being fatalities during the Maori Uprising 1863-64.
They were shot by the pakeha when their party sought refuge at a Pa @ Otau (situated close to Wairoa River )during the Maori Wars.
It says "They were from the Ngaiterangi from the Koheriki?? of Waikato". It seems these were the only two who died but many others were wounded. It may be of interest to families who have these names in their whanau
