Kia ora ano ChrisM

Good to see you still searching - that is the way - don't give up!!!

In www.whitepages.co.nz if you put the name Pouaka there is a Pouaka living in Christchurch and may be a relation. I know that you have the surname Hokaia, but sometimes first names became last names so it is worth a shot

If you do a google search for Hokaia, you will find Pouaka Hokaia listed in the Ngai Tahu Census - not much else there - as well as a Hokaia who was wounded in 1915 and returned to the front, but did not die in the war. It does not give the first name, but maybe see if you can find if the Maori Batallion has any records on that whanau may also help

Nau te raurau,
Naku te raurau,
Ka ora ai nga tangata!
