I am currently doing a Te Reo course through SIT in Invercargill. Part of my homework is to do a Mihi and trace my Whakapapa. My mum passed away coming up five years ago at the tender age of 61 years. I ahve no one to ask about history, our maunga, our awa, the waka, our iwi, hapu or marae. As a kid there were lots of stories told, but never continued once my grandparents passed away. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Debby

Kia ora Debby,

In order for us to be able to awhi - help you - could you give us a bit more information?

For example do you know where your mother is from? Also if you know her parents names and where they were from, that would also help us to be able to maybe awhi you.

Good luck! 🙂

Nau te raurau,
Naku te raurau,
Ka ora ai nga tangata!
