Looking for information on a Iwi/Hapu "Ngati Maringi. All i know is that they settled in the valley called Manganui-o-te-ao.

The name Maringi what is known of this Tupuna?

Did this Iwi/Hapu in it's time, have a marae, if so what was it's name?

Do Ngati Maringi identify as belonging to the Manganui-o-te-ao river or other?

Would this Iwi/Hapu come under the umbrella of Te Atihaunui-a-paparangi and linking it's self with the waka Aotea

Is there other known maunga other then Ruapehu to which this Iwi/Hapu identify too?.

Kia ora you might like to contact the Waitangi Tribunal office and ask if you are able to access the Whanganui tribunal land hearings manuals as Ngati Maringi was one of the hapu that had a claim in during the Southern cluster Whanganui Hearings held in 2008 unfortunately i cant remember who the person was who did the reseach hope this helps
