Kia Ora

I have been doing alot of research & have managed to track quite a bit of information through the Auckland Library.

I was wondering if anyone had information on the following or know the same information I have to get confirmation.

Herewini = Perahia

(These 2 are the parents of Ngakoere Herewini & Ngawharau Herewini A.K.A Hatana Herewini Ngawharau)

I come from both Hatana Herewini Ngawharau & Ngakoere Herewini. This is the whakapapa that I know of

1) Herewini = Perahia
2) Ngawharau Herewini (Hatana Herewini Ngawharau) = Wairua Te Wheoro
3) Titihuia Herewini Ngawharau (Rauriki Herewini Ngawharau) = Whaiapu Wiremu
4) Te Rewa Whaiapu = Mabel Te Rauriki Ormsby (Te Rauriki Omipi)

____________

1) Herewini = Perahia
2) Ngakoere Herewini (Ngakoena Herewini) = Te Teira Taumataherea
3) Te Ripoi Te Teira Taumataherea = Edwin Gilbert Owen Ormsby (Eruini Omipi)
4) Mabel Te Rauriki Ormsby (Te Rauriki Omipi) = Te Rewa Whaiapu

Also

Tahora = Hurori

(These 2 are the parents of Kotuku & Taumataherea) & have the whakapapa for these 2 but need confirmation going back)

Tahora = Hurori
Kotuku = Tahurirepo
Kumeroa Te Kotuku = Te Wheoro Wharepapa
Wairua Te Wheoro = Ngawharau Herewini (Hatana Herewini Ngawharau)
Titihuia Herewini Ngawharau (Rauriki Herewini Ngawharau) = Whaiapu Wiremu
Te Rewa Whaiapu = Mabel Te Rauriki Ormsby (Te Rauriki Omipi)

ALSO

Tahora = Hurori
Taumataherea = Te Pae
Te Teira Taumataherea = Ngakoere Herewini (Ngakoena Herewini)
Te Ripoi Te Teira Taumataherea = Edwin Gilbert Owen Ormsby (Eruini Omipi)
Mabel Te Rauriki Ormsby (Te Rauriki Omipi) = Te Rewa Whaiapu

if anyone can help me confirm that would be great thanks

P.S
I got this from John Steedman Book

Was also wondering anyone know any good whakapapa books on any of the Tainui Tribes

cheers

The National library has old New Zealand city newspapers 1840-1940 that can now be searched and read online at PapersPast. There are also old Maori language newspapers now on the internet too. And old letters and other documents in the Turnbull Library can be searched too. A convenient place to start searching all these is here. http://folksong.org.nz/tuhinga.html
