Kia Ora Whanau! My name is Jessie McInnes, I'm looking for information any whanau is willing to share about an ancestor Ngatira Kiriwhakairo (Te Kiri) who married Benjamin Boscawen Savage. My connection is;

 Ngatira Kiriwhakairo Savage's relation to you: Direct ancestor (5 generations)
Here's how:
1. Christine Mary McInnes is my mother
2. Christina (Chrissie) Margaret Birt is the mother of Christine Mary McInnes
3. Ropiha Te Pana (John/Jack) Savage is the father of Christina (Chrissie) Margaret Birt
4. Benjamin Tangihia "Pene Haweti" Savage, II is the father of Ropiha Te Pana (John/Jack) Savage
5. Ngatira Kiriwhakairo Savage is the mother of Benjamin Tangihia "Pene Haweti" Savage, II

My Nana (Christina birt nee Savage) married my grandfather Ivor Ray Birt and moved to northland, My mother was brought up in a world that was very pakeha and therefore I have grown up out of touch with my Maori side and I would just so love to find out where we come from and any stories people have to share. My Scottish heritage is quite well documented but I'd love to know more about my mother's side.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read,

Kia ora @jessm63,

If you use the Create a Google Whakapapa Search and just put into the surname box  Kiriwhakairo then create a google search you will find in the results information that I think relates to who you are looking for.  More info can be found from sites that used to have free access (as people contributed to them) but now you have to sign up in you want to find out more than what they show.  The geni site allows free signups and you can contact the person who put the information up.

Good luck! 🙂

Nau te raurau,
Naku te raurau,
Ka ora ai nga tangata!
