Kia ora whanau,

Ko Ngati Whatua te iwi,
Ko Te Uri o Hau te hapu,
Ko Arapaoa te awa,
Ko Waihaua te marae,
Ko Kirihipi te whare tupuna.

Me: Te Kowhai White
My mother: Evelyn White
Her father: Maurice/Morehu White/Waiti = Te Ira Aroha White (nee. Walters)
Morehu's father: Kereama Waiti = Ina Waiti (nee Manukau)
Kereama's father: Karaipu Waiti = Kairi Waiti.

Looking to find Kairi's last name. Mum said it was Titori, other whanau have said Papatitore. Also looking to find Karaipu's father.

Karaipu had three sons:
Manukau Waiti
Wiremu Karaipu Waiti
Kereama Karaipu Waiti

Also, he was related to Kohi Tatana Hemana, as some records mentioned that Kereama lived with his "uncle Kohi."

Any whakapapa would be helpful.

Nga mihi.

Kia ora,

It is possible that Karaipu went by Titori and Papatitore as often people where known by more than one name.  If you have a look at the Maori Naming Conventions page you can see in the example that one person could be known by seven different names!

Because of what is explained there, the first name of the father of Karaipu could be Titori or Papatitore.

Good luck! 🙂

Nau te raurau,
Naku te raurau,
Ka ora ai nga tangata!
Together we will get there!
