TE ARAWA CONFEDERATION, NGATI TARAWHAI, TUWHARETOA,TAPUIKA, WAITAHA-A-HEI, WAITAHA TURAUTA, NGATI MANAWA, KURAPOTO = [tribes]
MAKETU to TE AWA-A-TE-ATUA, along the RANGIT(E)AIKI River to TAUHARA to TAIHAPE, THEN TO TAUMARANUI to TITIRAUPENGA then towards MOEHAU along to KAOKAOROA-O-PATETERE and back to MAKETU. = [Tribal boundaries].

The confederation of tribes of te arawa is a result of bickering among the iwi that make up that confederation

Retimana,

there are heaps, heaps and heaps more Tainui tribes than what you've posted up.
Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Paoa, Ngāti Whanaunga, Ngāti Rongo-ū, Ngāti Tamaterā, Ngāti Apakura, Ngā Marama etc etc etc.
