Kia ora koutou,

I was just wondering, would anyone be interested in a Whakapapa Club? Not a reseach service, but maybe Chat facilites where we can discuss how to search for whakapapa online.

We meet say monthly / bi monthly and share tips and ideas - I have learnt of other sites just by reading these posts

We could sort out a date then put it in the calendar here so people can see when the hui will be.

Nau te raurau,
Naku te raurau,
Ka ora ai nga tangata!

Together we will get there!

Tena koe Poutokomanawa

Tino pai to whaakaro! E tautoko ana te kaupapa.

There is a need for this group, as the postings "searching for whakapapa, whanau" is huge, and will continue to be ongoing.

It will also be a great way to keep each other/members updated on new websites, etc, and the ability to chat (live chat) will the the added bonus.

Even the postings current/archived - have so much information about contact names, whanau names, whakapapa, websites etc etc, that it may a good idea to collate, the information from there and put into a easy database format.(if that would be allowed)

If are able to have a chat facility linked to Maori.org.nzwe - that comes on line, as you say, once a month, it would be of such great benefit, to those seeking information, for those, giving/suggesting options, avenues to start at, and of course for maori.org.nz.

I look forward to learning, and being a part, of this kaupapa

Tena koutou,

If there is enough interest for this, maori.org.nz can provide the chat facilites for Papa Panui members.

Kei a koutou te mana

Kia ora koutou Poutokomanawa, it would be an asset for such a thing to happen. We no longer live on our tribal lands these day but are spread far and wide around the world (even if its just across the ditch for me lol). From the questions and answers in the panui I do think it would be the next step and would like to thank maori.org.nz for making it happen. The korero here from the whanau of aotearoa and others reminds me of my home and I do visit this site most days.
Kia kaha

Jackson

Tena koutou,

We have started to test code for this and will keep you all informed of the progress. In the mean time, keep posting here with your comments and suggestions.

We have also moved this post from request for categories into a newly created section in the Papa Panui especially for Whakapapa Club, where you can start other korero about the Whakapapa Club.

Enjoy
