Ki ora te iwi whānui,
I am creating a facebook page for anyone interested in learning basic Māori.
Everything I know about Te Reo Māori, I learnt from my beautiful mama. I want to share what I know & learn more of our reo, engāri, I cant remember my whakapapa layout eg; Maunga, Awa, Waka etc.
I remember everything I need to know, I just cant remember the order in which to say it.
Any help on my whakapapa would be much appreciated.

I am trying to find hapu/iwi information about Sarah (baptised english name) Timu (her known name prior baptism) and possibly ngati kahungunu. I have only been able to find information on her husbands side but we are looking for information about Timu. Is there any whanau that know who her tupuna were and her marae. She was bought down to the bottom of the South Island by her husband, from the Bay of Islands as a married girl (she would possibly have been in her early teens). She was born approx 1806-1810.
Tena koe @kadeisha,
It will be best if you put your request as a new topic as that way the names you are interested in will be a main heading, and hopefully will catch the eye of those who know these names.
Go to Tracing Tupuna forums and click on the add topic button. In the box for topic title put
TIMU, Sarah: Possibly Ngati Kahungunu, Looking for tupuna and marae
Then you can copy and paste what you put above.
Where there are new topics with the names in the title after about a week we put the post on our facebook page to see if anyone where can awhi.

I have just relocated permanentlyto Whanganui from Australia. I am of Ngati Raukawa descent.
My Grandfather was Rex Seymour Bevan. I think my Marae is Otaki. Being new at this , I`m very keen to do my whakapapa with the longterm intent in using my Counselling Diploma / Cert 4 in Training and assessment to give myself in helping Maori. I would appreciate help in heading in the right direction.
