Kia ora,

I was just wondering if there was a way to make the search faster in the Research Archives section of the Whakapapa Club?

I have been using it quite a bit and I find that when I first search it takes a while to give any results. However if I then search for something that I have already searched for it is fast.

I have not noticed this initial slowness when searching anywhere else in the whakapapa club.

Kia ora for bringing this to our attention - it is good to have this kind of feedback when we first release something so then hopefully we can get it working lightening fast before this facility becomes well known.

I will get our webmaster to look into this. I had tested the search on a temporary domain and it was working fast, but I did not test it on our live site.

Heoi ano,

Apologies boss, I didn't test on the live server either - I guess with about 50,000 records in the search table it would slow down on the live server - I will see what I can do and update here when I have a solution - could take a few days to find one.

well that was faster than I thought - all done and I have live tested here on site and it is faster.

I have also increased the results limit from 50 to 100 - may have to increase that again to unlimited but will think about the best what to do it before I play with this code again.

Kia ora Buba11,

The best thing to do would be to start a new post with the names of who you want to contact at the top and put a link to the old post.

This way you may get fresh information as well as the link to the old post.

Good luck!
