THOMPSON, Kataraina Moengaroa: Looking for my whakapapa.
Kia ora, my name is Kataraina and I am trying to find out where I come from on my fathers side of the family. I've seen my cousin (Lorraine Thompson) on here though her posts were a bit old. What I do know of my dads side is, his name is Hepeti Matiu Thompson, his dad (my koro) was also Hepeti Matiu Thompson and my koros dad was Matiu Matiu (I think). My koros buried in Te Hapua, he took us on holiday to Karikari and Whatuwhiwhi when we were kids and told us that we had whanau there. He was an apotoro rehita in Te Haahi Ratana, alongside two or three of his brothers. Of his brothers and sisters i do remember, there was koro Dan, koro Albert, Koro Brian, koro Bill (not to sure on), nanny darma, nanny lovey (Lovinia) koro Spook (not sure what his real name is) and koro Tom is the youngest. I, like my cousin would love to know my whakapapa (where and who i come from). If anyone could help me with this, i would be truely greatful. Heoi ano mo tenei wa.
One way for you to find information is to phone 09 409 8151 which is the Ngati Kuri Trust Board in Ngataki and ask them - they are pretty good with that kind of info!
Good Luck! 🙂
