Hi There

We are Adrienne and Chris Takerei. Living in Australia. Our father was Charlie kerekori Takerei. But his original name was Charles Mackie. His father was Takerei Mackie. Don't know if we are related though!!!!!Takerei isn't a very common name.

Ki Ora Esah
My great grandfather was known only as Ta Kerei(Takerei);not sure how it was really spelt, and had married 2 sisters, Hinekaihinu Te Poria & Ngati Huikereru of Ngati Rangi/Uenuku descent(Whanganui). We have been informed he may have been of Ngapuhi/Northern descent(Very vague!), not much else is known about him.
My father & his siblings were not registered as Ta Kerei(Takerei) but as 'Gray'.
