Tenaa koe, Te Ikatere

There is no official fund for whanau reunions or gatherings. Part of the whanau kaupapa is to come together at hui to collectively plan and fund raise. The reunion begins from that moment forward.

Some whanau members will be enthusiastic, others will not - so typical of whanau. Fund raising could be as simple as each contributing a small weekly amount to a central fund for a certain length of time - or selling rewena or hangi on a regular basis.

There is a process that enables funding of waananga on Marae on a formal basis, however, it requires some organizational skills and abilities on behalf of the Marae to run such waananga successfully and accountably.
